Academy Equestrian
Join the team at Academy Equestrian in the Hills for the best trail -riding experience in Western Australia. The farm is close to heritage bridle trails and native bushland with seasonal wildflowers and kangaroos.
Experienced instructors will help you to mount and show you the basics before heading out for an hour and a half trail ride. Rides are scheduled 11 am and 2 pm Thursday to Monday from $65 per person. Trail riding workshops with a focus on Centered Riding are available for $150 per person for a one day workshop. School holiday camps from $95 per day, live in camps also available for ages 10 -16 years.

Clackline Valley Olives
Clackline Valley Olive grove has more than 800 trees including Frantoio, Manzanillo, S.A. Verdale, Kalamata, Lechino, Zeus and Corregiolo.The olive oil is available to purchase from Northam Visitor Centre or at the Northam Markets, first Saturday of the month from February 2009. Rivermist Alpaca Stud
In the grounds of Rivermist you can enjoy Devonshire Teas at weekends, and listen to an interesting and informative talk about the alpaca. While strolling through the grounds you can see the farm animals, feed the alpaca and view the Australian native parrots. Visit the shop where there are exquisite alpaca products (at bargain prices), hand made teddy bears and local crafts, and fleeces from the alpaca and angora goats for the hand spinner. Free Range Emu Farm
The Free Range Emu Farm is the oldest emu farm in the world, established in 1980. The emu shop offers emu leather garments, emu eggs, therapeutic oils, cosmetics, soap and emu meat. Take a farm tour to view the adult emus, the nests and the chicks in the natural bush setting.

Hoddywell Archery Park
Did someone say Robin Hood? Step back to the days of Sherwood Forrest and visit Hoddywell Archery Park. Hoddywell offers a range of beginner, intermediate and senior targets on 70 acres of bushland. There is also an Archery Museum, free gas barbecues and a kiosk. Hoddywell Archery Park also features Western Australia's largest archery shop.

Old Railway Museum
The station was built shortly after the Eastern Goldfields Railway reached Northam in October 1886. During World War II and the Korean War vast numbers of servicemen passed through the station's doors on their way to and from the Northam Army Training Camp. The station was closed in February 1966, and a new station was built in Peel Tce to facilitate the realignment of the narrow gauge and the East - West standard lines. On display at the museum is a large range of commercial memorabilia, steam locomotive, PMR Class, number 721 carriage to walk through and a scale model of the railway station.

Morby Cottage
Built in 1836, Morby Cottage was the home of John Morrell, one of the pioneers of Northam. The building has been lovingly restored and many of the family heirlooms have been returned to their original home. The diary of his voyage to the Swan River Settlement is available to read.

Avon River Foreshore and Bernard Park
The Avon River runs through the town of Northam and is the central feature of the Avon Valley. Take a walk around the bridges, barbecue in the grassy parks and let the kids enjoy the modern playgrounds. The forseshore is home to an abundance of birdlife - including ducks, pelicans and the famous WHITE SWANS of Northam. There is a swan enclosure on the Eastern end of Bernard Park.
Dortnj Koorlinny
The Dortnj Koorlinny (Noongar for 'walking together') walk around the river encompasses all of the Avon River Foreshore and Indigenous Tourism attractions in Northam. A 15km walk, Dortnj Koorlinny takes in the Kobori Boodja - an Aboriginal Heritage listed corroboree site - and the Northam Aboriginal Reserve. It also includes the Chidlow Memorial and Katrine Homestead. The Avon River was the lifeline of the original Baladong people.
Kep Track
Kep (Gep) is Noongar for water. The Kep Track invites you to travel as prospectors of 100 years ago did as they rushed to the goldfields. The 75km track following the Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail offers many options between Mundaring and Northam from a couple of hours walk to a ride over several days.
